Lately I've been getting into movies about con artists, and I'm looking for more. The ones I've seen and liked are:

Confidence
Shade
Matchstick Men
Grifters
House of Games
Spanish Prisoner

And of course, the grandaddy of all con movies, The Sting.

Any other reccomendations?

Check out "Tin Men", from 1987 with Danny DeVito, Richard Dreyfus, and Barbara Hershey.

The Flim-Flam Man with George C. Scott. It's been a long time since I've seen it and I've forgotten a lot of it so I can't vouch for how good it is.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Michael Caine, Steve Martin, Glenn Headly.

A hilarious romp on the Riviera where two rival con men make a bet about who rules the roost.

Al ittle different take here:

The Usual Suspects and Primal Fear

I've always pegged Burt Lancaster as 1920s religeous con man in Elmer Gantry as well. Maybe I'm taking your search on a cynical drift here....

How about a comedy about con artists? "Opportunity Knocks" with Dana Carvey. Never going to win any Academy Awards, but I find it pretty intertaining, nonetheless.

Croupier - From UK, rather dark and depressing

Rounders - Not really a con movie, but about poker, so similar enough that you might like it

Following - Another from UK

Owning Mahowny - From Canada

Matchstick Men with Nicholas Cage.

Oh, who can forget the best con man movie of all time: The Sting!

"You gotta keep him conned, even after you've taken his money."

The Sting II is pretty good too.

oh I forgot farenheit 9/11 and bowling for columbine are pretty good con-man movies

:D

I thought we were talking about movies ABOUT con men, not movies BY con men much less movies that are, themselves, con jobs. :D
