Now that Blade-Tech will not sell sheath making supplies (blk.eyelets,blk.chigago screws & posts) to the public and there source (tacoma screw)do not not carry them any more! Anyone out there know of a source that has the same quality products for sale? Any of you sheath makers know? Thanks for any help! PJ CAREY

try www.fastener-supply.com I just had a panic attack after calling Blade Tech myself. Then I got pissed when Tacoma Screw quoted me $225 for 1000 eyelets. A good friend told me of these guys and I just got 1000 for about $24 :D

they have all the dimentions listed for you. I use the 8-8 size for 2 layers of .090 kydex.

Hey Guys...

"I use the 8-8 size for 2 layers of .090 kydex."

I would use 8-10 for 2X.090

Here is a rough chart for sizes

6:8/8:8 for 2X.060
6:10/8:10 for 2X.080/.090
8:12 for 2X.125

IMHO 8:8 eyes should only be used on 2 layerrs of .060, 2X .080 at the Very most.

You run the risk of blowing an eyelet if there isn't a decent roll on the back of the eye. A short eyelet will look flatened out, instead of rolling.

Hope that helps..

Is there a one stop shop to order kydex eyelets and the setter? Shipping here to Alaska is way expensive and ordering $10 at one place and $10 at another will cost me another $20 for shipping. Most companies only ship up here by 2nd day air UPS. Ive checked locally and the only leather shop doesn't carry any eyelets or the correct size setter. Thanks in advance akraven
