I am interested in a strider knife for concealment (that could be worn around the neck). Any suggestions?
thanks

One of Mr. Mick's SLCC would be the lightest blades they produced, I think? I still would think twice before stringing one around my neck.

I've been out of town, so I'm jumping in late. As always, I sing the praises of the AD. If you can get one, it's Strider's best concealment knife and also their best knife period. In India, I wore it around my neck under a T-shirt and it came out to slice and dice some very bad men who wanted to harm me. Get an AD and never look back.

definetaly the SLCC if your going for concealability, i dont wear neck knives but the SLCC works awesome if you put one arm and your head through the paracord and wear it under your armpit.
it also works awesome IWB using the paracord for a slip sheath.(my personal favorite way to carry it)
the handle on the SLCC is nothing short of genius, before i got it i thought it looked kind of uncomfortable and hard to hold. but thats the farthest thing from the truth, it just locks into your hand!

it would also probably work good as a neck knife because its very thin (1/8" thick) has a small handle, and the wide sheath should keep it from twisting.

bottom line, the SLCC kicks serious ass, my all around favorite strider. and ive owned a few of em at one time or another (18 or 19 i think)

I too have an AD and would heartily endorse getting one.

As for the SLCC, I believe that Mr. Mick had an experimental concealed butt-sheath for it, but was scrapped in mid-development:p

Sorry... That was a bit low.:D

My wife bought a WP2T and it would make a perfect neck knife. If I'm not mistaken it's a bit thinner than the SA/DB/AD knives (3/16" vs 1/4"??). It's a sweet little knife-very impressive.

thanks for all the info so far. i tried to look up the AD and the SLCC but don't see them on the stider web page. am i overlooking it or do you have suggestions of a web page to see all the knives and order?
thanks

Try the concealable section of the Strider webpage for a look at the AD. The SLCC is dependant on how often Mick has "runs" made of them. Usually "runs" go at around 50 pieces for the main line and smaller batches for the custom pieces. More popular pieces get "run" more often than the not so popular pieces. I would bet the AD is in the not-so catagory. Probably have better luck with the SA. That's my favorite small Strider. Similar blade style and size. Just more belly to the blade. Try TAD, Joe Estrada, Vinnie Palucci, and some of the other guys before you go to Strider direct. It'll save you time.

Edited for spelling

SLCC custom. When I first handled the thing I didn't like it. Now, I haven't taken it off in 5 months. It stays in the hand, the handle actually works. I have confidence I could F' someone up with it if it came down to it. On my hanging tennis ball drills, the knife moves well. I like the recurve and have no problem sharpening it to be hair popping sharp. Try it out, you won't be sorry....
