Concealment

just to put out before i give the advice, in most places you must have a concealed weapons license to carry that size of a knife hidden.

now, ummm just to have it on your body and hidden? you could use a leg/boot style sheath or maybe kind of in the small of your back but that is a big thing to be trying to carry hidden

X2. Shoulder harness of some form might also be necessary.

This one looks good for a larger blade.

You could also try something like this. It'll stay concealed pretty well once you have a jacket over it.

Anyone have any thoughts on the best way to conceal a Daggert or similar size knife?

What state are you in? You have to be careful and knowledgeable about concealing knives in your state. Call your local cop shop. They will tell what you shouldn't do. You'll have to play by their rules.

"davisac"
Shouldn't something so beautiful as the SOG Daggert, be worn with pride?
So excuse me if I am a little confuse.
When you state "the best way to conceal" - I take it that you still actually want to carry it on your person, only that you want it well hidden???!
Haven't you considered a backpack or anything kept away "on you"?
But then again, I do suppose that's why the "boot" knife was always a popular option.
And so is a trenchcoat/field jacket or oversized pullover by all accounts.

Im in PA. And i dont want to just go around waving it on my belt or anything. which i dont wear alot of times. so i want to get something i can hide it. i was looking at a shoulder sheath possibly

plan on going to jail or at the very least losing it to the first cop that sees you 'print' it under your clothes.

Well, conceilment is a matter of perspective. Conceiled from whome and for what reason?

When hiking and carrying a larger fixed blade, I wear a pullover, jacket, or shirt that hangs over it. This works well with TekLok capable sheats with which the knife rides a bit higher on the belt. So the average hiker won't feel intimidated by it but of course if somebody knows what to look for, he'll recognise it.

In the city I simply wear smaller fixed blades that conceil better and/or folders.

when it comes to legal, concealment is "hidden from common observation" so if billy bob walking down the street cant tell you have a knife on you more than likely it is concealed (the whole pocket clip sticking out is normally open carry though). while a print may freak people out, if you are within the law you should be ok

For information only:

I don't think he is concerned with legal concealment. He is merely looking for suggestions on how to conceal his knife. If he has questions concerning the legal aspect there is a legal forum on this site. But he should be cautious even though PA does allow concealment on folding and fixed blades with a few exceptions (dirk, dagger, stiletto and automatic). Carrying a concealed weapon for the purpose of committing a crime removes the right. BTW, the SOG Daggert looks like a dagger to me.
