Concerning knife laws in South America

Hello everybody!

I don't know where to find the laws for carrying knives in different countries, so I thought I'd post here. The thing is, I'm going on a backpacking trip to South America in September with a couple of buddies of mine, and I want to bring my Ka-Bar for utility use. The countries we will be visiting are Argentina, Brasil, Guatemala, Mexico and Cuba. We will probably visit some other countries along the way, but those are just small spontaneous detours.

So does anyone have any experience with the laws in these countries?

Thanks in advance!

I hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread, but I will also be traveling to Argentina and possible Columbia for a couple of weeks in November. I would also appreciate any info on carrying a knife in these areas.

Again InUtero, I hope you don't mind me piggy backing your thread.

You should go over to the Rat Cutlery forums w/ this question. Jeff Randall & Mike Perin travel quite a bit to South America, and run a Survival school down there. I am sure they can help.
