Concerns about new Stretch 2

Alright it's been awhile guys, I've pretty busy with family and my birthday. Haven't really had time to sit down. But anyways, I just bought myself a Stretch 2 in that sweet racing green frn. It's an awesome knife and I love that zdp, but I have concerns about the amount of play blade it already has. Now i've only had this knife since the 1st and today was really the only time I've used it. I was pushing down on some hard plastic and I heard it click. After playing with it some more I've found that when it's open I can wiggle the blade enough for it to make a pretty loud clicking noise, when it's closed it bounces up and down just by pushing down on the blade. I've even tighten some of the screws and it helped, but I can still hear that clicking. Now I have two other spyderco lock backs that I've had for years that don't do this. In fact none of my spyderco's do this. Should I send this knife to spyderco to make sure everything is golden? Any advice is greatly appreciated

Vertical play is in some lockbacks but no all. For Spyderco it's an accepted thing. Check for debris in the pivot though, it should not click

I've checked the pivot and it's spotless. And I know lock backs can have some play to them, but even when closed?

Sounds like you should just take it in and let them look at it since you're close.

Sal once referred to the 'Seki Pop' with the lockbacks. It's there on my Delica and honestly, it bothered me for the first week or so. But I love the knife and it slowly just stopped bothering me. I do not notice it anymore. I also have a Stretch and I notice the pop only if I'm looking for it.

If you're noticing blade play more than this, it may be something else.

I've had lots of Spydercos, including two ZDP-189 Stretch models, and blade-wiggle and lock-rock is NOT acceptable.
Send it in.

I agree. My ZDP Stretch doesn't do this. Spyderco has great customer service. They will take care of you.

Lock rock. Sweet now I have something to call it. My delica does it, but it doesn't pop or do that lock rock. With my delica it seems like more of a flex. I'm going hiking tomorrow in golden so I'm going to swing by the spyderco store. Have them give it a look over.

greetings all,
had to comment on this one. have the same "lock-rock" on my enduras. if you tighten up the lockbar torx screw [#6 bit], it should take out almost all of your play. worked for me. take care.
