I have made a few knives out of concrete sawblades and was wondering if the steel has enough carbon in it to get file hard? Going to try and heat treat some. Anybody else tried this?

Save ya a lot of time and money.

If you're going to use recycled steel testing it to see how you can heat treat it first is a good idea. My guess is it won't work, all the ones i've seen use diamond abrasives to cut. So there's no need for the steel to be hardenable
But give it a try, maybe i'm wrong

Concrete saw blades are not knife blade steel. It likely won't harden much at all.

Use the Custom Serach Engine in the stickys to read many threads on why not to use concrete saw blades.
