On September 11th, the people of Germany - along with the whole world - witnessed the murder of thousands of men and women in the United States of America by an enemy full of hate.

The pictures we saw, pictures of innocent victims, of
aggression and destruction, will remain in our minds forever.

We grieve for all people who lost their lives. Our thoughts are with their families who lost their daughters, sons, mothers and fathers. All of them have our deepest sympathy.

The President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, brought us hope when he said during a time of need:
"Ich bin ein Berliner."

Today we say to the American people: We stand by you!

Many people complain about how technology "impersonalizes" society, particularly here in America. A note like this shows the positive side, that people from all over the globe who share interests can also show concern for each other in a meaningful way.

My parents are both Berliners who came to NY after WW II.

We're seeing the beginning of WW III, which can (and will)only be won by people standing together as our friend from Germany has here with us in America.

The outpouring of sympathy from throughout the world for this week's carnage strengthens our spirit and resolve that although the cost of freedom is high, it must, and will, be protected and preserved. May God bless the fallen, their families and friends, the rescuers, and the citizens of this planet who believe in peace and justice, and who have lost a piece of themselves in this tragedy.

Your thoughts and prayers mean more than you can know. Thank you.
