So I pieced together these quick clips. I think I have some more somewhere of the waterbottles cut, but while filming this I found that it goes right through them.

My question:
What is harder to cut, frozen (like crystal clear frozen blocks such as those bottles in the video, not frosty ice)
or the pliable nonfrozen water bottles?

may have to try this with a 2 liter to unbust the myth or something.

also before anyone yells at me for shearing the trees (a process to have thicker growth in the summer), it doesn't matter anyway. The dang power company cut them all down. They must have been stealing someone's wifi :P

Looks a lot like me whenever I get the chance to run around with my Bush Cutlass! There's just something about it that brings out the dervish in you. :D:thumbup:

So you have cut frozen bottles before?

Yes, though not with the Bush Cutlass. I've done it with other swords though. I find that the frozen ones are easier because you don't have the "tomato effect" going on (hard skin with soft insides) so they can't "squish" when you go to cut them. Not sure how it would be with the BC though, as the blades on the pieces I used at the time were a bit thicker.

Cool video! This piece have been on my "to get"list for some time and it just stepped to stpes higher on it.

It's TONS of fun! :D :D :D

Hey Joe--any chance of a broader version in the future? I'd like to see it with a kilij-style blade! :D

Joe,

Great vid, cool sword! It is good to know you keep your pine trees trimmed so well!

Freshly dead zombie thread lives !

Hey , whats the gossip on the Cutlass ? As far as sturdiness in concerned , really wondering how sturdy the handle is as well. Seems a cooler alternative to some of Cold Steels offerings.

Anyone ?

Very sturdy. I've thrashed mine and it's handled it flawlessly. :)

That being said, since it's such a light blade it really is intended for light targets anyhow, which are unlikely to cause any harm. It'll bounce off of anything much over 1.5" thick, in my experience.

No problem! I'm hoping we see more sword/machete hybrids in future. Lots of possibilities!
