Just got this one a few days ago and had a chance to take with me this afternoon when I was doing some shooting.

Nothing fancy about it, but a solid knife and at less than $32.00 delivered, hard to beat!

Sheath is typical Condor, really good quality leather.

Worked great in splitting some kindling!

I tested the back of the blade with a firesteel, I initially was afraid that the black coating would interfere and need to be removed a little, but it worked fine. It only took 3 scrapes to ignite a cotton ball/PJ starter, and the first 2 scrapes were to remove the coating on the firesteel itself.

The coating on the blade had some scuffing afterwards, but that's expected, and I would almost like to remove it entirely, or wish Condor would do a run without it.

I like this one a lot, I believe the 2011 models may be sharpened all the way to the handle, which if that's true, I may get one, but otherwise I was impressed with this "budget" blade!!

I really like this one and the sapien they make. I may have to pick one of these up as beater/loaner knife. Thanks for the pics.

This knife brought back some memories, back way before there was a bladeforums (or even a WWW dang I'm old!) and I learned that I must have "better" knives, my main outdoor knife in my teenage years, was an Old Hickory 8 1/2" butcher's knife in a sad homemade sheath.

This knife reminds me a lot of those days, just a straight forward simple wood and steel tool!

You got the 2010 version, hit up condor and they should replace it with the 2011 version with the grind that goes all the way back to the handle.

I like It, That's a nice knife for the money, I like that Wood what kind of wood doe's Condor use on there Knive's ? I'm gonna have to get one of the new 2011 Bushknive's I hope there still useing the same wood scale's, And on the newer model the cutting edge goes the full length of the blade like btuner said, Plus It's got a lanyard hole In the handle, Thank's for all the picture's & the review,

They're using the same wood still--It's sustainably raised walnut. Sands up to a gorgeous shine, too.

Hey Guys

Is this what is being called the "Bushlore" ??

Thanks, I may contact them and see if they can direct me to a retailer that for sure has the new ones!

Buying Condors sight unseen can be interesting unless you order from someone like 42blades that keeps up with this stuff. When I was at SMKW last time I examined FOUR different versions of the wood handled Bushlore.

Yep, I ended up awhile back with the older Bushlore that has the older THICK blade, nice knife overall, but not a good slicer!

Thank's for the Info. on the Wood,

So I was confused on the Knive's then cuz I thought the the Bushlore was the newer model of the Bushcraft basic, So the Bushcraft basic doesnt have a Lanyard hole,

Thank's for posting the picture's Bear Claw,

I've been eyeballin' the nessmuk as well as the bushcraft, for quite a while.. I'm sorta leaning towards the Nessie, but may wind up geting both at some time or another.. ANyone play with the nessie yet ??

Nope, not even the new 2011 models of the bushcraft basic series do. I just got an email back from Condor about an hour ago in reference to the differences, I thought the 2011 ones had one also, but they said no, only the bushlore does.

Unfortunately I don't have any of the Bushcraft Basic series right now--though I plan on having them in future. I'm working hard on getting stuff back in stock right now, but I'm not sure yet how long it'll be. :)

And in the mean time, that micarta bushlore keeps going.....Oh Bear Claw......you want me, you want me, you want me.............

But you do! :D I'm actually starting to run low on them too. Only one left!

Hey Guys..

Is this something you guys would be interested in getting Concealex sheaths for ??

The only thing that concerns me is handle consistency ..How consistent are the handles ??

There's enough variation between individual knives that I'd say you'd probably need to do them on a case-by-case basis, unfortunately. CNC these ain't! :D They're getting better from a consistency standpoint, and I haven't had any "problems" with the handles, but I just think that there's enough subtle differences between each piece to make it difficult to simply use one as a pattern.
