right now i am deciding between a HI bilton and a condor bushlore for a belt knife?
what is everyone's thought on this? the bilton looks beefier on paper, 1/4" thick spine.

The Condor Bushlore is quite beefy. I believe mine is 1/4" steel stock. Have not looked at them of late, and I guess they could have revised them. I bought a Condor Kemphart for the thinner bar stock after I got the Bushlore.

Very solid knife. In terms of strength, I would put it right up there with the Kabar Becker BK-2.

I need to see if they give tours of their factory. I believe Condor is located here in Orlando, FL.

I handled a few Condors at a gun & knife show here recently, and it seems like you get about what you pay for. Fit and finish is just ok, but it'll likely get the job done once you put a good edge on it (all the ones I handled were pretty dull). Don't know the Bilton.

You must have a first gen. one then. The second generation on was reduced to a more reasonable 1/8" stock thickness.

Nope. That's just their national sales and customer service location. The company itself is El Salvadoran, and the factory is in Santa Ana, El Salvador.

Ahhhhh, darn. Well, of course, I still haven't gotten over to the Randall shop either, so I suppose that will have to do! :D

I may just have to buy another one since they are using a thinner blade stock on the Bushlore.
