Condor Bushlore wood handle modification

I own a Condor Bushlore and could use some ways to modify the wooden handle, so it doesn't feel slippery.

Like the Wilson brand they sell at Walmart? Makes sense.

You can also mix a small amount of fine sand with some clear polyurethane and paint the handle with it. You'll feel the difference but it won't make the scales look much different - I used some 400 grit silicon carbide grit. Burning (singeing) them with a torch also improves the grip.

I wrap mine in hockey tape. It's actually in realtree. I'll send a pic later.

Will the tape stay on with the tight leather sheath?

over time as you are taking the knife in and out, the tape starts to roll back. But, with use, the tape starts to get dirty and nasty and will need to be replaced anyway.
