Condor clear coat?

What's the best way to strip the clear coat off of Condor knives without affecting the black/forged finish? I didn't even realize there was a clear coat til I got a Hudson Bay, Sapien, and Mini Bushlore in and the coating started gunking up as I touched the edges up. By the way, the Mini Bushlore would make a great neck knife, but is MUCH smaller than I thought it would be. I have smaller hands and it still barely gets a three finger grip. I think I'll pass this on to a female that's into camping/edc.
