Does anyone know if this is full tang?

http://www.machetespecialists.com/coboma15inbl1.html

I tried the bladeforums google search but didn't find anything regarding the tang on this particular model. I have also fired off an email to the machete specialists regarding this but thought someone here might know off hand.

I'm just a click away from nabbing one to replace my broken Linder machete.

Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly what the tang on that one looks like but I recall a photo of a Rodan tang that showed it was almost full width and length. So most likely plenty strong.
One thing to be aware of with that bolo. The handle is large. If your hands are medium/small you may have an issue.

Here you go Tyrkson.

About as full tang as you can possibly get with a molded handle. Never worry about tang failure with anything by Condor/Imacasa!

Go for the Condor!

I have one of their hunting knives and love it. Excellent quality for the price.

Thanks a bunch guys. I have had some quality knives with molded handles from SRKW but after the Linder failure (not knocking them) I just want to make sure the next one is more solid. And the Condor I have my eye on looks pretty beefy so I can't wait.

Off to order. Thanks.

That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks bud.

The Linder's stick tang went through about 2/3 or so of the handle. Not all the way to the lanyard hole. It didn't have the lanyard but was triple pinned so seemed strong enough. Just a natural material failure in the wood on the handle. Let me snap that pic real quick of the tang just in case anyone was curious.

The Linder pieces have received pretty poor marks from every source I've seen, so it's not too surprising. :o

:( Well lesson learned. I'm pretty new to the machete scene. Here are some pics of the Linder in question.

Not sure how to salvage this but I'll toy with it for a bit and do some research.

My ontario (modified to more of a Golok style) has been laughing at everything I've thrown at it so far.

Good news is the Condor order has been placed and should be on its way via USPS from The Machete Specialists.

Condor makes an excellent machete, razor sharp edge, nice handle but they are on the expensive side of the machete spectrum. I purchased a marble Bolo instead. Full Tang but wood handle. it is razor sharp! 3mm thick blade at the handle to 2.2mm at the tip. It has some heft to it but it is 1/2 the cost of the equal condor. The sheath came with a stone. It is an decent sheath. I am not nuts about how it goes back in but still an awesome bolo!

The condor I ordered was $19. Not too bad.

The Marbles one looks good too. This it?

Imacasa--Condor's parent company--made the Marbles pieces. The handles are left rough like on a stock Imacasa, but the edges are polished/sharpened like on a Condor. :)

As far as the Linder goes...I'd just chop off the stick tang it has and just cut a new handle out of the base of the blade. It'll shorten it up about 5" but you'll have a full tang piece at least.

Good idea. I have a thread started in the knife makers shop area to get some ideas. Thanks a bunch.
