Hello all, my name is John!
I am new to the forum and joined because I am in territory that is new to me. I purchased my first machete after a short amount of research time as I am not new to knives but new to machetes. I landed on the Condor's Golok and could not have been happier. After sharpen'n the blade up some I went to give an old stump in my yard that I use for chopp'n a couple of whacks (12) when the blade snapped. I looked at the blade and my guess is a flaw in the temper'n process. I bought the blade 06-18-10 (two days old!) but instead of becoming angry I thought well perhaps I learned a $50.00 lesson ($34.00 blade only/$16.00 sheath sold sep.) called the cust. service number for Condor and they asked for 4 things to send via e-mail; a picture, what happened, upc, and my shipping info. I asked how to go about sending the broken blade back and the very nice fella said you don't and we will send you a new one out as soon as we get the e-mail! Wow, kudos to you fellas for turning a sad day into a good one! I am willing to look at other brands if you experts out there can suggest 'em! I am not turning my back on the above brand simply feel a sickness and the only cure is more machetes!
