The new and improved Condor Golok with full tang construction. This is a great piece of work for around $30! Did some chopping today. Felt great.

Looks even more awesome than I hoped it would! Thanks for posting the pics!

Damn that does look like an improvement, now that I see it in pictures. I could actually see myself buying an extra of this wonder value tool.

Looks like either a Sitka or Kodiak Gearslinger. So, yeah--Maxpedition.

Yup, it's a Maxpedition Kodiak. Nice sack, although after a few miles a single point harness gets a little uncomfortable at this size. I have to keep moving it around.

caine, yes I got it at Knifecenter.

I wanted to add: I'm really getting enamored with these southeast Asian machetes and bushtools. They are the embodiment of pure function, and most of them are quite handsome.

I can't wait for the Thai eneps to come out. I'm SO all over those. I also like some of the parangs I've seen, although I will admit I am not too fond of Condor's, believe it or not.

I kinda like the Condor Parang, but I'd like it better if it was a traditional Parang. I've considered getting one from Vailiant, but they are on the other side of the planet and the shipping is high, not to mention I have customer service questions that such great distance implies.

Hey komondor, what's the knife you're carrying in the side pocket of your pack? It looks thick and has a nice handle and sheath!

Thanks for the pics, this is a chopper that I have been eyeing for a while and I have been very pleased with my current condor machetes so I have high hopes for this one.

Would anybody else be able to identify that knife komondor has in his pack's side pocket? I feel like I've seen a knife like that before, but I've tapped out on possible knife sites that I know of.

Edit: PM'd komondor

Edit 2: Read FAQ o.O

Edit 3: I heard back from komondor and I'm sure he wouldn't mind me sharing the information here, because that's what forums are for, after all ;)

The knife is a "Terrasaur" crafted by Fiddleback Forge. It has curly maple scales and is fitted with a really nice leather sheath-- Diomedes. (I'm guessing Diomedes is the craftsman.)

Just thought I'd post an update here: knifecenter doesn't have the full full tang parangs. They said they wouldn't have them until the end of summer. Of course I found this out after they made me wait over 30 days for my order and then sent me old stock (3/4 tang)

Why did Condor go to the full tang their golok? I have one of their 3/4 tang models and I can't see that thing ever breaking in any way. Was it just customer requests or a balance issue?

I think it was actually an ease of uniform manufacturing thing. They actually drilled out the tang to keep the balance the same. :)
