Hey guys I just got a bad ass leather sheath in the mail for my Golok. I got it from forum member Wildmahn.... He had some chete sheaths up on the exchange, one of which was a rig for a 14in Tram Bolo... It looked right for the Golok, since I own a Tram Bolo, I knew the diamensions were right. So for 20.00 I figured what the heck and bought it off him...Well, it came today, and I was right. Damn thing fits like it was made for it!!!!!
The retention strap is a bit snug, but will loosen up over time. The sheath is great. Heavy duty leather, beautifull edges, drop loop, and 2 more belt loops on the backside. I added acouple velcro straps to these loops, for mounting to a pack, or mounting a pouch on the sheath.
So, if your Jonesin for some sweet leather for your Golok(or other chete), and wanna support a forum member, look to Wildmahn. This thing is even more badass now.
I also sanded the handle down smooooth, and added a few coats of boiled linseed to the handle. It looks amazing now, and is alot more comfy then it was. It was a bit too rough from the factory. I dont care though....For the price of the Condor, its fine by me to sand it a bit, and finish up the handle. The coating is even, pins are centered, and the edge is screamin sharp from Condor.
All in all for 55.00 +or- for the whole set up, leather and all, how can you go wrong???? I bet this thing gives a Barkie Golok a run for its money...for 1/4 of the price!!!
