Condor Golok?

I was thinking about trying out the Condor Tool & Knife Golok as my first foray into machete type tools. It's currently on back order till late March but I was wondering if anybody has heard reports about fit/finish/function.

The only grip I have is the wood handle. Will it be an issue when I take it into wet environments?

Any and all opinions would be appreciated.

Best,
Brass

There are some great reviews of the Golok. Wood handles actually become more grippy when they are damp -if they are muddy or very wet, they can be a little slippy. The Golok has a strange handle shape. I prefer a traditional handle, but it is something I am still getting used to.

Wow,

thank you so much for the great links Gov.

I'm also going to order the leather sheath as well. Have you had any issues with it and moisture?

My experience is very limited with this machete since I haven't owned it very long. I am planning on getting a sheath. So far mine has been limited to backyard duties/ firewood as testing -no real world use yet.

Based on all these reviews I'll pull the trigger on it anyways.

Thanks for all your help.

I'll post a review when it comes in.
