I have been a knife nut for years but just now getting into axes/hatchets. Started out rehanging an axe head I found, then just a few days ago I bought this—a Condor Greenland Pattern Axe/hatchet. With a 16” handle, not sure what side of the fence it sits on.

Of course I had to make it mine with some light stain, a little yellow paint, and some paracord. It’s a beast in the hand—already chopped a few small pieces of wood. May fully replace using a knife to batton wood into kindling. Made for VERY quick work.

I haven’t seen any issues with this one so far! Went through like butter.

Generally their axes come a bit thick in the bit and the handles can use slimming, but once you do that they're very capable tools. The quality of the hickory in the handles is usually pretty top notch, too--super dense.

I’ll agree to that, the bit needs some slimming and the handle is very stout!
