I have the Carpenter from Condor- normal quality and assembly.
Condor Greenland run in two types- black forged (like my carpenter) and damascus (looks like a cheap pakistanian damascus) :))

The "damascus" was the old version (no longer in production) and was a deeply acid-etched patterning that supposedly reduced friction.

The present ones are available in two weights. Quite decent little axes.

I have found the Greenland Pattern to be good for their price. I have sold quite a few. My nephew has one that he uses on float trips and loves it.

HandAxeProMan,
what is the steel of the Greenland pattern axe?

I needed to ask about this rather quickly because I found an older model still in the 22" size. It seems they have lengthened the handles to 26" now.

How handy is a 22" axe? I watched a video where Dave Canterbury raved about it, but wouldn't something 25-26" be more useful?

The handle on mine is ~23" with a total length of about 25.5" or so. The head is 2.25 pounds. It's a great little axe.

I took a Plumb Boy's Axe and rehandled it with a piece from HH. Overall length is 24-13/16", axe head weight by itself was 2lb - 5.25oz. I don't have the weight now that it's hung but like it enough that it is the pick-up truck ride along where ever I go. I wouldn't want to split a chord with it but for regular use (which is plenty around here) it's just about perfect.

Oh, and the shorter length was a bit of an accident. In trying to remove that Hickory Handle from a damaged axe head the original wood got severally damaged. I'm not about to waste a very good hunk of wood so it was cut down and reprofiled for use again. Turned out to be a success...luck of the draw I suppose.

A boys axe is a great truck axe or trunk axe. Perfect for limbing or bucking that small tree across the road. Big enough to do the job but still small enough to do some bushcraft work if you're just out having fun. I love 'em!

The vintage Plumb Boy's axe sporting a cut down piece of Hickory from HH. In the center is a new(ish) Council Tool Boy's Axe now painted Black with Enamel and to the right is a vintage Plumb DB Victory that weighs nearly the same also on a 28" HH piece of Hickory. The DB is easily my favorite axe of the group and I particularly like the rich color of the Hickory. I asked Meagan at HH to pick a darkly colored, richly grained piece for this one. She replied that was unusual as most requests were for White wood... I said "Well, lucky me". She came through nicely.
