First let me apologize for a lack of pics...for now
hog sticker...
i bought 2 models from knifecenter. The first has the D gaurd handle...the second has a regular handle.
let me say it appears to me that the non " D gaurd" condor is under spec for thickness...the D gaurd machete is about 2.24 mm thick, pretty close to spec.
The regular handled ( non "d Gaurd") starts at 1.97mm and tapers from there.
the D gaurd model does not taper and is noticibly heavier ( but still light) and stiffer. I do not like the handling or lack of meat on the cheaper model (the non D gaurd).
I would only go with the D gaurd stainless model..as the cheaper one is just a sharp toy and lacks both the heft of a tramontina bolo or the balance of even cheaper 1mm blades from colombia.
