Sitting here hanging out on BFs I realized something.. I had left my El Salvador machete in its leather sheath for over a month since my last camping trip!! It literally was "rode hard and put away wet". I had to clear out an area along the river for everyone since I was the only guy who remembered to bring a machete. It also rained that weekend.
Damage report::??
Two tiny, tiny spots of surface rust on the blade edge, THATS IT!. I had a small bottle of blueing/rust remover in my gun cleaning supplies and it came right off. Its oiled up and happy now. I honestly expected it to be in worse shape. I feel better now thanks.
