I have the Golok and it's a good chopper. It's 1/4" thick at the thickest and has a distal taper. According to the Condor website, the Kukri is 1/8" thick and weighs considerably less.
Get the Golok.
I'm a bit of a Condor fanatic, and I can tell you you won't go wrong with either one. The golok will probably pull out ahead by a bit just due to the extra mass, but the kukri has a lot of mass vertically behind the blade--just not as much on the sides. It'd make a terrific chopper as well. At around $25 a pop why not get both? They're both great tools geared towards different environments or circumstances.
I can tell you that the Viking machete hits like a ton of bricks, too.
Head on over to the Wilderness sub-forum and speak with folks like Joezilla. There's a LOT of machete experience over there ... they'll be happy to chat with you.
