I've liked the looks of this blade since I first saw it on the internet. I'm wondering if anyone has one and could offer their opinion on the knife. There's not much info out there on it.

Ok--here we go. The knife is an excellent size, the socket is of egg-shaped cross section for excellent comfort and indexing compared to most socket handled knives, and there's still ample space for the insertion of a pole. The hefty heel of the blade forms an integrated guard and gives knuckle clearance if cutting against a flat surface (think cutting board) while the tip is fine enough for detail work. Early runs had minor retention issues with the sheath which have been fixed by the addition of a single snap strap.

I haven't taken the cord off mine yet, to be honest. However, I think it should be fine. The seam, while not welded, is butted up very tightly.

Thanks for the info. I had been looking at a CS Bushman until I saw this. I wasn't sure about the oval handle, but I bet the blade would be less prone to twisting on the shaft when using as a spear And I love condor knives. Good know they fixed the sheath.

I'm glad they fixed the sheath too, I have one of the early runs, and the sheath is horrible, definitely not what I expect from Condor. There's a comparison review of the Matagi vs the Bushman by "MDPrepper" on Youtube, and in his view, the Bushman wins by far. According to him, it batons better among other things. I haven't tested either of mine, but if you're interested, just look up Condor Matagi and the comparison review will be one of the first results.
