I realy like my Becker BK2, and when I saw the Condor Rodan, similar in size and weight, plus a really great price I decided to go for one. Heard a lot about rough edges
and not so sharp out of the box. So I wasn't expecting to much, however at under 30 bucks and comes with a nice leather sheath, I figured how can you go wrong.

Got the knife to day (actually 2,...but more on that later) and was quite impressed. Out of the box it sliced note book paper nicely, and shaved arm hair. When I got home I gave it a lite stropping with my leather belt, and it now pops hair and slices small slivers of paper, and my first ever attempt at feathering a toothpick, not to great but Oh well. One pic shows it with the Becker 2 for comparison. Here is a few pics...thanks for looking:thumbup:

Oh Ya...about getting 2 knives. For some reason there were 2 knives in the box, I double checked my initial order and I ordered just one, however looks like I was billed twice. I was all ready to get things straightened out and my son walked in my office, and we started talking knives. He loved the Rodan, so I handed him the unboxed second one. He was thrilled... and it made my day as well.

Sounds like a great deal, and your boy made out as well.

We used to have a duck named Rodan.... :D

Well, you know the saying about beauty, beholders and eyes.... ;)

I love my Rodan, and mine is one of the ugly first-gen ones! It's easily my most-used non-machete fixed blade when I'm out and about. I DO wish it would get compared to the BK-2 less though. It may be similar in outline but it's a VERY different knife, in my opinion. Lighter and faster while still being a "tank" on the toughness scale and the full flat grind and thin convex edge make it a killer slicer. It'll still do light chopping if you three-finger-grip it off the beak of the pommel, too.

Hi there, where did you buy that camo wrap for the handles? I would like to order some.

Unklfranco

Its McNette Camo Form tape. Sticks only to itself, doesn't leave residue on grips. Got it from Amazon
Not real hi tech but it makes any grip feel very nice.

Just have it on the back of handle cause a full wrap sticks when sliding into the sheath.

i've had the rodan for some time now. i use it alot when camping easly my most used knife and i have a few!!

Looks like it might make a good alternative to a BK10 if Ka-Bar doesn't roll it out soon. Beats buying a knife at twice the price and cutting it down like I was planning on doing.

Really nice knife, as are it's big brothers. I've kind of got the Rodan spot filled multiple times, but who knows...especially at those great prices. Thanks for the report.

I think you'll find it an almost alarmingly pleasing knife to use. Ugly as a monkey in a negligee but it's such a great user! Can't beat it for the money, either.

Rodan is very cool tool! the price is very good and have a great and cost benefit!
