Been lurking a while, then joined recently. Just had an amusing thing happen so i thought what better way to say hello than to share my day with my new friends! I just got this little knife in and immediately put it to rigorous work, for the benefit of my fellow blade forums members. It arrived nicely packaged in a white box, with a handsome leather sheath and enclosed knife catalog. The wooden scales and overall feel of the knife were fantastic, far above what i expected from a 30 dollar knife. It took a sharpening quickly and held well.

first i went to my garage and threw it at my dart board, where it stuck a few moments, then fell to the floor (about 4.5 feet). Upon impact i saw a spark, and the very tip of the knife broke off. Must be hardened steel. No matter, i put it on the bench grinder a couple seconds and feathered it out to the point it wasnt noticeable. Next we went to the range to shoot some new guns. The paper target was blowing in the wind, so i prudently decided to employ my trusty 20 minute old knife as a stake to hold the target to the pallet we use to mount them. I warned my friend not to hit my new knife, took a few paces back, and quick drew my 45 colt and fanned the hammer four times, easily dispatching the would-be bad guy target. Unfortunately i also caught my knife in the middle of this epic gunbattle. This concluded the standardized 45 long colt knife test.

This is one of the best reviews I've ever read.

The handle slab fell off even though you hit the blade? Or was the slab hit by a bullet as well?

Thanks! I hit the blade so hard it warped, broke a chunk off, and ejected the scale from the tang!

I guess you can't expect too much from a knife with bevels looking like they were shaped using a hacksaw :)
