Does anyone own the Condor Scout? I've read reviews on various sites and it's hard to get a grasp on it. Some people love it and some people don't. Is it practical or just a fun toy? How would it be for carving? Thanks!

It's very practical as far as small hatchets go, but I wouldn't personally use it for carving as it's more of a "chop n' split" combo. They tend to need the edge ground thinner to really perform.

Thank you for the information. I thought it might be like one of the smaller Gransfors hatchets where you could carve.

I like to think of it as more of a "camp putterer" model. Easy to pack, helps with fire prep, can handle rough crafting duties but isn't optimized for it. :)
