Does anyone have any idea who might have the 2012 Condor Village Parang in stock. I have been looking for one for some time now and everyone seems to be out of stock.

I'm still wanting to give one a try....just haven't pulled the trigger yet (to close to Christmas)

The Village Parangs look to be about the right size IMO to be small enough to stash in a pack or anywhere for that matter one might need a larger blade. I'd love to have one for occasional woodsbumming and maybe to tote in the field when hunting to clear shooting lanes or whatever. It isn't quite overbuilt, but looks substantial enough to do its fair share of chopping. I want one based on aesthetics alone.

That's one of the problems with backorders. You may have a place in line but it's only with one shop and there's no telling how long it may be for an individual store to get an item in when the demand so vastly exceeds supply. And if they do get some in there may not be enough to get to your place in line.

I've been patiently checking my preferred vendor for a village Parang and they are never in. At this rate the new rubber handle version may show up. I have patience but a year (aprox.) is a long time.

I literally received ONE VP on the shipment I got in yesterday. Surprised that my distributor even had the one.

I can see shipment being erratic and or slow all the way up here to the pickle factory. But a closer huge market like the states ? Are they in some state of semi shut down for the quality control revisions ?

It's entirely possible. I think they're probably doing some major overhauls/maintenance down there both in terms of PP&E as well as employee retraining and process streamlining.

Supply across the board has been low lately, but the Bushlores that came in on the same shipment were just about flawless. If they can get every item (or even just most items) up to that level they'll be unstoppable.

Cool. I never put the boot in with Condor as the value and interesting designs were always there. My Hudson Bay and one other piece I believe had a mild but perceptible warp to them when viewed down the spine. Not enough to impair function, so not enough to flap my wings about either. I was also shipped another sheath which was unexpected and impressive. It is interesting that my longer Condors (Barong, Parang) were straight as an arrow. If they can keep those prices reasonable and upgrade the product, they should sell very well indeed. Another one of my attractions to Condor as I said above, is the willingness to step out of the box with design. I think that this is also a factor for some C.S. buyers. C.S. isn't afraid to stretch a niche, or create a new one either.
