It's gotta shine.

Coarse, Medium, Fine, Arkansas, Japanese Water, exotic automotive polish papers, strops with give to get the edge convex, finer polish, finer, finer, finer...

No jigs or sharpening systems - it's all in the art of freehand.

It's gotta shine - like a mirror.

I can see my grin in the perfect edge.

It'll shave the hair off a hair.

"Hey Buddy, can you cut this piece of string for me?"

What is he, nuts? Cut string? CUT STRING? And ruin the edge...

If I ignore him, maybe he'll go away...

Just having a little fun here... cheers and happy holidays... RLR

The only solution is to carry two or three knives at a time. I love the scalpel-like VG10 blade on my Spyderco Calypso Light Weight, but when there is a box to open I use my SAK. The only time I loaned out my Calypso was when a friend needed some minor surgery. I mostly use the Calypso for touchup shaving on my face.

Please read my post on the thread concerning what steels cut better....Thanks..........wolf:confused:

If you could achieve the perfect edge, its perfection would drive you insane. You'll note that I have found the perfect edge, ergo, I am insane.

Beware what you seek, for finding it may end all purpose - just look at Ahab.

I hate to break the news but... I developed the perfect edge years ago! As a result I have mastered the art of controlled linear fisson.

With the proper slash the spine of the blade causes a high pressure tube to the target (Picture an air tunnel to your target). At the same time the perfect edge splits the atoms inside this tunnel. The split atoms bounce off the walls splitting more atoms and create a nuclear beam to the target.

I once killed a grizzley at 500 yards with this routine!

You need to visit my shop son!
I will show you what a perfect edge is........ :) \\
No kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p:):p

Tom,
I would love to take you up on the offer. Then I could learn HOW to put the PERFECT edge on my knives.....I am getting frustrated!!!!:( :( ;)

Mr. Mayo - are the insane allowed in the state of Hawaii? You never know if they'll let us handle T'N'T ;)

All kidding aside, I would be honoured. Should travels take me to your islands... one never knows.
