Blues Blues I've mentioned you directly as I think you may know most.

I still can't find anything in the rules, FAQ, terms etc that I broke, so the recent changes still seem unexpected. The specific rules I'm told I broke are eluding me and I did not wish to break any rules. Is it possible to direct me to this so I can be sure to follow them. I had also tried to respond but my post was 'moved to another thread' but seems to not be visible anywhere.

I have been separately recommending and linking to BladeForums from my own website as a two way thing (although this is now on hold and marked as such publicly). Though I can't link to my website form here, so it isn't really reciprocal, I have been promoting and supporting BladeForums independently by way of cooperation. It is disappointing if this needs to stop. Are we able to discuss this?

The owner of this site, Spark Spark , has advised the super moderators, when we've asked for clarification, that only those with paying memberships, (such as makers, craftsmen and service providers), can link to their content offsite.

You may feel free to take up the matter with him as I've tagged him above.

ETA:

You can view the restriction as part and parcel of the spirit with which this rule was posted:

No use of images / signatures to advertise for yourself or others without an appropriate paid subscription.

(The same holds for posting links to your own YouTube content or offsite material.)

OK, but I'm not a maker, craftsman, or service provider, but a private individual, an enthusiast with a personally run website that has no advertising or revenue generation and who provides a reciprocal linking to BladeForums (or did, but could reinstate this).

I have no 'budget' to pay for advertising as I have no income, in fact I only have costs to which I cannot add any more. The reach I do have comes via quality, social media and SEO. My interest in BladeForums is as an enthusiast and my contribution is to try to bring more visitors by encouraging discussion (which is why I love forums), by posting some content for discussion.

It is the same on all forums that some members seem to take offence and make a fuss instead of simply moving on by. I should not engage, but try to explain.

I was hoping not to step away from forums again, but I'm not beholden to them. Cooperation and coexistence would be the ideal.

You're pleading your case to the wrong party. We have our marching orders. You'll have to take it up with the owner. There is no point in taking this further until he weighs in.

If you are not monetized, one way or the other, I don't understand your reluctance to simply post your written material here as a review (without links offline). That said...it's entirely your choice to do what you will with your content...but what you do here must fall within our guidelines.

Now...we'll just have to wait for Spark Spark to reply.

One of the members was kind enough to remind me of this section of our rules in the "Exchange" area of the site.
I'm closing this thread to avoid any further confusion. Should the owner choose to make an exception, he can reopen the thread and comment. I suggest you "follow" the thread so you will be notified.
