Rule 11:
You must wait 14 days (2 week rule) to relist an item for the second time. Once you list an item for sale, that item cannot appear for a second time in a sales thread until 2 weeks have passed from the date of the original thread. Any changes made to your existing sales thread (withdrawing, editing price, etc.) must be made to that thread, don't start new threads with the same items. Use a calendar if you need to. You can link your sales threads to your signature space, but don't make it a giant billboard.

The rule states that you must wait 2 weeks to relist an item for the second time. Then the next sentence states "don't start new threads with the same items". How to you relist an item to bump it to the top with a price reduction if you can't start a new thread with the same items?
I've been a member for over 20 years but I just re-upgraded to Gold to sell some knives and it's been a long time so my Knife Exchange skills are weak. Thank you.

You can't bump anymore. If you post in your thread, then people viewing new posts (https://www.bladeforums.com/whats-new/posts/4813010/) will see it, and people who sort the sales section by last post will see it. Otherwise the only way they do is going through the pages as far back as your post is or by searching for that knife, so it benefits you posting a good price from the start (and making sure to spell the knife name and model correctly and each way someone might search).

It used to be that the sales sections by default sorted by last post, so bumping was effective. There was a rule that you could only bump once a day. Too many people didn't follow the rule, and it was way too much work to deal with, so now all that is gone, and sorting is done by thread date by default (but again, each individual can change it, and presumably some do).

Then the next sentence states "don't start new threads with the same items".
I think they mean within the same two week period. Some people will try to start a new thread with a new item and also add the other items in to it. The proper way is to link to your existing thread.

Thank you for the help guys. So if I understand correctly, the proper way to legally BTT is to wait 2 weeks and then reply to my own for sale thread with my price reductions? This will bring it back out of the depths? Thank you.

I think you can reply and change prices whenever, you just can't make a new thread within that 2 week period with the new price. Also, replying will not bump it to the top any more. Most buyers are aware and will search the thread for what they are looking for which is why kreole emphasizes correct spelling, etc.

So I guess I do not understand at all. Thank you again for all your help. Could I please get a MODERATOR to dm me so I don't jam up this thread anymore. Thank you.

You can add to your thread at any time with a new price by posting within the thread...assuming you are unable to edit the original post, or just prefer to make a new post within the thread. (There is no limit to how many times you can change prices or add comments within the thread.)

After two weeks, if the item hasn't sold, you can lock the old thread and create a new thread for the item in the appropriate category.

(Only one category is permitted for selling, even if the item meets the definition for more than one. You can also list the item in the appropriate trade category, if you wish to consider trades. This can be done contemporaneously with the sale thread.)
