Confused with 444 & 442 Bucklight vs 422 / 426

I saw some of the 442 / 444 Bucklite´s being sold at low prices and thought why not get one of those as a "beater" and for feeling OK around salty environments - with the BG42 blades my 110 and 560 deserve better care than being tossed around in salt water and/or being loaned to users unaware of their proper use - so the 444/442 would be planned to just serve those two purposes.

Now I did some search in the forum and I only found references to the I think older 422 / 426 models - not that spending 15 dollars would brake the bank if the 444/442 isn´t doing as well but maybe someone could give me a short update on those Bucklites and comment on if this purchase is probably a good one - or if there are better choices ?

TIA

Klaus

Have a 444 that I used every day for about three years. The blade grind edge holding and lockup are up to Buck's usual high standards bit the pivot was uhhh, disappointing. Had to be retired.

the 442/444 use the same blades as the heavier knives. They originally were 112 and 501 blades.
Yobbos 1, greetings, if there is a problem with your pivot on the knife, Send it in!!! Joe would be dissappointed if a knife was retired when it could be repaired and made servicable again. Their lifetime warranty is the best in the biz.
take care, guy
