What kind of photo gallery is it that will not allow a poster to post a photo? Is this site run by the federal government?

Plenty of pictures posted here. Maybe you don't know how?

Click the little yellow box that looks like a picture. Its above the response dialogue box, bottom row third from the right. Enter the url of your picture in the popup window and click ok.
The html coding for the picture will then appear as text here in the box.
Or, you could type in the right tags and copy and paste the url here. The tags used here are IMG tags- it looks like this:

Willie, the free level (you are a 'free' registered user) will not allow you to post an image unless you host the image somewhere else. And there are lots of free sources for that. (Try ImageShack.com). Arathol just showed us how.

Or, an upgrade to a Gold membership will give you this privilege right here for a year, and you will be supporting this site. That's the skinny.

It's run by a businessman for his clients. Nothing of value is truly free.

I get the rules about membership but am curious as to why they are in effect.

Sending a little bit of text across the web is relatively cheap... Sending a bunch of big high-rez pictures isn't.

There are three ways to pay for this:
1) Out of the site-owner's pocket. I've seen this, and it's not pretty.
2) Only let paying members upload pictures.
3) Lots, and lots, and then some more, ads. This isn't pretty either.

So of the three options, letting people pay for a few features seems the best.
