Congrats Dexter and Darrel on the article in Nov. Blade Mag!

I just got my November issue of Blade and there is a great article on one of my favorite knifemakers, Darrel Ralph. Another great thing about the article is that my friend Dexter Ewing wrote the article. Pick up a copy soon.

On another note, my picture is in the same magazine. I was looking at some pics from the Blade Show and noticed a familiar looking ball cap. Well, after a closer look, I noticed that the guy standing there talking to Sal was me. I couldn't believe it. All you see is my back but its me. The pic is on page 119 second from the top. I always go by and talk to Sal. He is one cool guy!

The article was really quite good. (On a vaguely related note, be sure to catch the picture of our very own Gus in the same issue!)
 
First I read in shop talk that Darrel's work is featured in Blade this month. Now I read here that Dexter wrote the article. Then Michael notes that you can see the back of his head, and then word that Gus is in the same issue. :eek:

I got the issue yesterday. I've got two of my knives pictured in there - the slotted and nuggeted ti 4" EDC and the Mini Maxx. The Tactical Scorpion with CF scales belongs to fellow forumite Penguin (Bill Wentling).

It sure would be nice to get magazines at somewhere near the same time that everyone else does. Oh well, maybe next week I will get to see what you are all talking about, but I am sue it is a great article if it is about Darrel and by Dexter.

Getting to see a recent picture of Gus should be interesting as well.
 
In all seriouness the article by Dexter captures Darrel and his attitude to a "T". It is well done.

Gus is on pg. 119 actin a little loupey as usual. :D Oh yea, mine just came in the mail.

Great article Dex, you should take this writing stuff serious more often. ;) And DDR just keeps puttin out dem beauties that everyone wants. :)

By the way another fairly new forumite is also in the mag on page 122. Patrick Nihiser won the Best New Maker award this year at Blade. Congrats to Patrick also. Me thinks I am going to regret letting that piece get away.
 
Man, how did I miss that one? If it'd been a snake it would have bit me. Congrats Gus!

Before I start catching too much grief :D.

John (Fitch) made me bring that loop to the show. That dagger will be ready next year, but he wanted me to see how tight the pattern was in it. He sure has a lot of things going on pattern wise in that blade.

I do not normally look at knives with a loupe, but I might have to in another 10 years :D
