At last, pictures! Very interesting. What is the blue thing near the spine of the blade?

I must say, after hearing of the new folder, I could not wait to see it, now that I have, the initial wow was not there. For a folder being just under "$500", I will pass on it and buy other sebenzas and umnumzaans. Maybe after seeing close-up pics of the knife and reading about may change my perception of it, but my initial responce is......nah, just not for me. Congratulations MR. Reeve on yet Another Blade Award......You Have to have the record !!!

The blue "thing" near the spine is the new lock mechanism that seems to set this knife apart from most others. Interesting knife. Took me a minute of handling it before I could smoothly open/close it with one hand.

I'm going to have to agree with you. It just doesn't look good to me. Those cut outs remind me of a Chinese made knife or something.

But I could be missing something that better pictures could help me out with. Either way congrats on the award!

congrats to CRK but yea I kinda wish CRK would stick with their own stuff and stop all the mixing it up... it just does not seem to work out well for them... anyone remember Al Mar and CRK? if you know your CRK history you'll note they got burned pretty good. I am sorry to say but I enjoy stuff like the one piece and the Sebenza alot more than the new stuff. The Nyala and Umnumzaan are both great but they are kinda based off proven designs. I know its great to have new stuff but its just not for me. I guess I am old fashioned

i agree with crackerjax, stick to the basics. tweek them a little bit and thats it, to me that good enough. why not bring back the umfaan? seems thats taboo. add a clip and the sells would be off the charts!!! but Chris Reeve knows what he's doing, that's why i buy his products!

CONGRATS once again to CRK!

The Ti-Lock is way, way cool!! I had the pleasure of handling it. I am very impressed with it.

Ill reserve judgment on the Ti-Lock until i can see it in person. However congrats to CRK and company for winning again this year. With such great craftsmanship and attention to detail, it is definitely well deserved.

From the original description I read, I thought this knife would have a modified mid lock design with studs on end of the lock bar nearest the pivot. I have a knife like I have described and it holds some great advantages/ergonomics.

I am not so sure I would be interested in carrying and using a knife like this Ti-Lock. That spring looks like it could get in the way during use and possibly snag/hook on things when the knife is closed. I hope it works out well for CRK!

The trend I'm noticing is that folks who have just seen the picture or a short video of the knife aren't sold on it, but the luck bastids who got to handle the knife are generally impressed. For me, I'll withhold judgment and comments until this thing gets more well known. I trust Mr. Reeve and his talent for creating appealing practicality. So far, his track record is pretty good

Congrats on the award! :)

I think that the initial reception may be similar to the Umnumzaan's, however I would like to see better pictures of the knife in question (and the text) before I form any opinion.
