Congratulations to John White & Kyle Royer. Both won two two awards apiece at the Arkansas Knifemakers Show. If memory serves me after my five-hour drive home (John is still on the road as I type), John took Best Bowie & Best Hunter while Kyle took Best Damascus & Best Giraffe Bone Knife.

Y'all give them your best.

Cheers,

an award for best Giraffe Bone? What will Les think of next lol

anyway congratulations to each of these fine makers.

Hope that both will post photos of the winning entries

Thanks Mr. Vandeventer!

John White won three awards Best Hunter, Bowie and Art knife.

Chuck Ward took pictures of the knives, so I'll post them up when he gets them finished.

Also I would like to congratulate Bill Buxton for winning Best Fighter!

Yes congratulations to John, Kyle, Bill Buxton, and the other winners. Ron Newton won for best of the showwith a very impressive fighter on the Loveless style. There were some really great knives at the show. I am already looking forward to next year.

Added congrats to Bill and Ron - well done. I like Ron's take on the Loveless genre.

Now, while I look forward to Chuck's excellent pics - did ANYBODY take some show pics? Y'know - point camera at maker - click; point camera at table - click?

thank you Kyle for the mention and congratulations to you also, it was very nice to finally meet you, I came by your table a couple times but you were off doing more important things, very nice to finally see your work up close, even though by the time I got over there most of it was already sold and gone. Keep up the great work.

It was a great show, I think the best I've done so far and the wife and I have marked it down as a definite redo next year, I sure enjoyed meeting so many. Ron Newton was very gracious and helpful, thank you Ron. Chuck and Mary Ward were there to help with anything and everything besides doing there wonderful photography work, they were fantastic and many thanks goes out to them also.

Thanks everyone for a great weekend.

Bill

Thanks to all, wish you all could have been there. You'ld have loved it.
Fri nite, the collector/maker banquet, held for the first time this year, was great. Good food, soft music from a live band, and a couple hundred knife folks mingling, talking knives, and filing down a long table looking at each maker's best.
Sat morning really crowded, a buying frenzy, Sun ,quieter as usual, still knives available for a smaller crowd, and lots of time to talk to die-hard collectors and fellow makers.
Sales seemed to be really good, no sign of a recession, my best year yet. Got to see Ron's, Bill's, and Kyle's winning knives, and spent the week-end with some great foloks.
Ya'll come next year.
(I think all but Ron's winner were in ckerwin's Little Rock thread)

John

I would also like to say congrats to all the winners. John, Bill & Kyle is was great meeting all of you, all three of you are really class acts and your work is outstanding. Looking forward to seeing all of you again next year. Kyle, I will see you in June at the hammer in.

CONGRATULATIONS to you all!!

I hope we get to see pix of the winning knives.

I made it in Saturday Morning. Sold all three of the pieces I brought 20 minutes later:D. Sales seemed very strong, and the Saturday crowd was pretty heavy. I was VERY happy with the show and that seemed to be the attitude most had. Suppliers reported good sales as well.

The show is short and sweet. Just Sat and Sunday, which I appreciate, and it is only a 3 1/2hr drive.

If you are into forged blades, this is one of three must attend shows for you.

Congrats to John, Kyle, Bill and Ron on the awards.

Really bummed out I couldn't attend this year. Sounds like it was a great show. The Friday night addition had to be a plus.

Congratulations, John, Kyle and Bill! Great looking knives!

Congrats to all the award winners on Friday night and Saturday. There were some really really nice examples there. I had a great time and thanks to all.

Yes, congratulations to all that won awards.

I was so glad I was able to attend this year. I never get tired of looking at beautiful art; but way more rewarding for me is getting to see and converse with old friends and meeting new people.

I can't remember when I was as blown away by meeting a person as I was Saturday when I met Kyle and his family. It was like meeting a young Vince Evans. Those kind of people make me sick!:)

Such good news here. Congrats. I have no doubts that you guys are gonna be seeing alot more of this in the years to come.
