Michael Ruth Jr's D guard sword won Best Sword and Best Overall at Blade :thumbup::thumbup:

He is really stepping up his game...and I hope he will get a nice Hi-res Photo and post it here, because all I have is a cell phone photo sent to me by Jon Klein...and it looks pretty awesome just from that !

The Ruth family are "knife people" all the way, so much talent and enthusiasm.
 
It is a spectacular piece. Major props to the maker and I couldn't be happier for the owner.

Mike came by, I regret that I had to politely send him over to Eric for a portfolio shot. I do not have a tent capable of shooting swords at the show. That ought to change, but not this weekend.

We'll see how it looks soon. I'm REAL pleased for him, yet not surprised.

I could not be happier for Mike Jr, well deserved an awesome piece. He is working hard and it is paying off big time for him. I hope someone can get a reasonable pic posted soon of this beauty. Thanks for NOT posting the cell pic Bill, it is not worthy of this one. More to come......

I didn't see the piece, or Mike for that matter (busy show!), but do look forward to seeing the pics.
 
I was lucky enough to be able to handle Mike's sword, it was really something.

It had great balance as well as execution and beauty.

Awhile back Mike Jr. really upped his game and winning Best Sword and Best of Show is a great reward for his efforts.

I can't wait to see his new work.

Thanks for the kind words guys, it really means a lot to me! We had a great show and really enjoyed catching up with many of you. That place is more like a giant family reunion than just a knife show. Already looking forward to next year! We`ll make sure to get some more pics posted up as soon ASAP

Congrats Mike!! I took a quick peek at this beauty while you were speaking to someone, planned on coming back to introduce myself and somehow that didn't happen.

I blame it on fatigue and knife show livin lol
