Roger and Dan Farr that is; awesome article in March's Blade Magazine!

I wish I could write like that!

It'll probably be about three weeks before I get my subscription issue, so hopefully the uploadable issue will be on the Blade Magazine website soon.

congrats Roger. I just received my copy, haven't read it yet.

I have often thought Roger would make a great writer for the knife publications, looks like he is there

Yeah, as long as they don't take any pictures of him! :p :D

Seriously, Roger. Congrats! :)

Thanks Darby and all. Like Keith, it will be a while before I get to see the final product and I have been more than a bit nervous waiting for this one to hit the stands. It's something I have wanted to do for a while and hoped my first effort would at least be readable. Much of the credit goes to Dan Farr, however, who provided all the information that really matters in the article.

Thanks again,

Roger

Roger, congratulations! And I thought all ya' did was collect those amazing Bowies. Can't wait to read it. :D

Roger has already written several after show reports that have been superb.

However, his superior writing skills, accuracy, and subject knowledge will probably doom any career as a journalist. ;)

I suppose that we can all say we knew him before he became a big cheese, or as they say in Canada, un grand fromage.

I am very much looking forward to reading his debut article!

I also thought it was a fine article and the pictures were very good as well. Part one was published in this issue with part two to appear in the next issue. Congratulations to both Roger and Burt! Well done!

as usual, i will be the last forumite to to see the Blade article.

I can only hope that it shows the thoroughness and writing style that Roger has treated us to on these forums. I very much look forward to reading it.
Congrats, Roger.

Looking forward to it.I will be the second to last to read it.Shaldag to be the last.;)

There's no better wordsmith on THIS forum than Roger. That's my perception.

Good for Roger and Dan!

Roger and Dan, you both did really well. Congratulations on being published. I hope it is the first of many for you both.

An interesting, well written article about a great guy and his exceptional knives, accompanied by nice pictures (well, except for the one of Roger :p )

Congrats guys

Roger, Your article is very clear and informative. I am looking forward to the continuation next month. Jim Treacy

Roger,
.....Seems only natural, with your eloquence and love of
knives (spelled B-O-W-I-E ), that you'd write.

Congrats....and yes,keep it up!

I have to hand it to Roger. He did a great job considering the material he had to work with. The only credit I can take is recognizing talent and talking him into it. I have a couple more ideas sketched out for him that I think will be good, so watch for more!

Dan Farr

That was a great article! I had the priveledge of discussing handle ergonomics with Dan in 2003 and he really helped me. His intense study of the subject is impressive, by itself. Roger , you are covering it well and I will be watching. Lin

Thanks again guys. Dan, it was a true privelege working with you on this. And also a heck of a lot of fun. It was a unique opportunity to test the various designs back-to-back on the cutting competition apparatus and observe the resulting changes - some small, some profound - in the feel and function of the knife. To say that Dan is a wealth of knowledge on the subject of knife design would be an understatement. I look forward to our future projects.

While I find no need for drawing lines in the sand, I will say that Roger wrote the finest article in this particular issue of Blade.

Very, very well done.

Of course, as Roger knows, being that myself, himself and Stephen Foster were looming around Dan's table like buzzards on a kill, Dan Farr needs the publicity like Michael Jackson.

Can't hardly get a Farr knife as it is, although having had one, I can say that fit and finish are top quality.

Exceptionally fine writing Roger, and I'll see you in Reno, Dan.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
