In this month's Blade, there is an article written by Don Guild, on high-end knives, their values and collectability, and Don Hanson was one of just a few high-end makers who were featured in it, makers said to be some of the most sought after and collectable, guys like Fisk, Walker, Lake, Steve Johnson and Harvey Dean, that's pretty good company, as well, that amazing bowie of Don's that won Best Fixed Blade at the Chicago show was pictured. One thing mentioned in the article, was something I have been saying for a while now, that Don is best known for his remarkable art folders, but beginning to make a name for himself with his forged fixed blades, of which I am desperately trying to corner the market... :)

When I opened the magazine, the article itself was represented in the table of contents by a small picture of one of Don's folders, actually, one I own, I was excited, thinking it would be in the article, nope, no such luck, they showed the bowie instead. :eek: :grumpy: :)

Congratulations Don! You are keeping awfully good company these days... :)

No, Don is a work of art. I give him a lot of crap, but he really is quite the artist. I've been collecting knives a long time, and I have NEVER seen anybody go from making plain jane fixed blades to making some of the finest folders ever in such a short amount of time. The talent was obviously there, but seemingly overnight he went from relative obscurity to famous with a big backlog.
 
I've been away alittle over a week and man you guys have been busy. I havn't seen the mag yet so I don't know what Ari is talking about but I want to thank everyone for the comments. Thanks Ari :)
