First congratulations to Paul and his wife, and a big welcome to their new born child Rory into the world, I'm a little late, as my log time on the forum has been scarce and sporadic the last year, searching Carl's lounge I came across the good news and this picture if Rory

I hope all are doing well.

I also want to thank Paul (pmew) a fellow congress fan for sending me this Carl Schlieper/Olbertz small congress 2 5/8" and a wonderful note and Christmas card to my family.
Paul emailed a few weeks ago about having something he wanted to send to me, I had no idea what it could have been, and after I opened the oiled wax paper and seeing the congress, I recalled Paul saying it was too small for him in the congress thread, Paul knowing I use knives of varying sizes generously sent it to me. It will be put into use after the holidays, I have a few furniture making projects my wife request I do, so such projects I like to scribe with a coping or sheepsfoot blade instead of pencil, so this little guy will be used for this task, it is in my pocket now, and sure it will be put into use sooner than later, congress knives being a favorite pattern of mine, it's a fine little knife, I'm always impressed with the skill that goes into the smaller patterns and these blades congress nicely with no rub.
Thanks Paul for the generosity, and hope you and your wife are getting some shut eye, as I know too well with two little ones.

Thanks
Pete

Pete, thanks a million my friend! I'm enjoying looking at those pictures. It's much better to see it being carried and used, than gathering dust in a box. Be careful out there - those city folks are strange!

Paul, congrats!!! That is a precious pic!! Fatherhood is amazing and from what I can tell by reading post, you're gonna make a great dad. Enjoy it, they grow quickly. Congrats again :)

Well done on the Congress as well.

Pete, its good to see you around and I know your going to have a great Christmas. How could you not surrounded by all those lovely ladies.

For some reason I have always been fond of those Carl Schliepers knives and that one is a gem! That one fits your collection so well. Paul rocked it.

Thanks for sharing this Pete! You are a great member here and a great recipient for this nice looking Carl Schlieper. :)
Congratz, my friend!

Nice gift, Paul. The Congress is a nice pattern and Schlieper does a good job on them. And your wonderful boy is a joy to look at.

Oh man Pete - What a beautiful Thread mate- you TOTALLY deserve that stunning knife - thank you for posting this up matey - just awesome !

Paul - let me tell you my friend...My girls are my world, every stage of their life has been a really lovely thing in my life - I am just the luckiest guy in the world - and you will know what I mean - in fact I am guessing you know now when you hold your Son, and as you watch your lovely wee boy growing up, loving him, teaching him - wiping away his tears, help him understand and face his fears - and laugh with him - and even cry with him - the return is something that is pretty much indescribable - but its the most fantastic feeling in the world - you are a very lucky man - congratulations to you and your Wife.
