Hats off to Darren Clarke. This man has been through an awful lot and has been a tremendous steward of the game all the while. Not your typical pro golfer yet at the same time everybody's everyman, I can think of nobody more deserving of the Clarett jug. Congratulations, Mr. Clarke! I have raised a pint of the good stuff in your honor, sir.

I was also very happy. He showed such class and strength years ago in the Ryder Cup only a month after his wife died. He seems like a really good guy. I was hoping that Phil's run would last a few more holes though; it would have made for an exciting finish.
