Over the years, Schrade gave some knives out to their customers.
These knives had a nice shield and blade etch, Show yours here... Ken.

The dye was done by hand and eye. And the base Delrin color changed over time as well. I see this very plainly in my collection of 897UH spanning the entire production.

Looks like after 30 years the color comes out of the Delrin.

The dye wasn't always the same either, and I imagine there's even some batch-to-batch variation. I think it's fairly stable if kept in the box, but it does fade in sunlight and gets a chalky-white texture if exposed to heat.

I'm on the road at the moment, like usual, and don't have access to my full Compliments checklist. But we have a good topic on started on them somewhere around here. These are some of mine:

Hiya Koldgold. I'm in Long Island, New York this week, but last week I was down in your 'hood in Aussie-land.
Didn't have a lot of time off down there this trip, but I did manage to squeeze in a bit of bushwalking and a stop at the Lithgow Arms museum.

Hi Old Mate Bob, my collection of these knives went up with the knife you sent to me early this year.
Last week Dale Vincent sent me another, I do not see them for sale now-a-days... Ken.

The most unusual ones in my collection is a 12OT (?) knife with a Compliments etch, but no date.

Oh, and this one's pretty odd too.
