......couldn't be more than about 10% of original production for Sears remaining given that folk did not collect as such in 1959..they used them,..that would mean about 70 left...I have one and a bloke in the Riverland of South Australia has one and this example is only the third I have ever seen...has anyone else got one to report?...I reckon time will show that was the bargain of the year at $275....a true Schrade Collectable and the best example I've seen....well done whoever bought it.....Hoo Roo
P.S. given that it is now nearly 2010 I wonder if that Schrade Book by Bruce V. is nearing completion?...and one wonders what form it will take in discussing/acknowledging these very scarce Schrade varieties or will it simply be a collation of the actual Schrade Company history which can be gleaned by careful searching this very forum....IMO only a true lover of the actual USA Schrade knives, rather than the History, could ever produce a book acknowledging/addressing the subtle differences in the actual knives....but what mass appeal would it have to justify the expense of production..which is probably why it has not seen the light of day to date?.
Unless the book was interactive with uploading additional information as its unearthed I still believe Larry Vickery's site and this Forum will remain way ahead of any tangible single book.
