I stumbled across a Buck congress pattern, 4 blade,USA Buck. Typical black saw cut handle. This is the only one I've ever seen, did Buck make very many? Don't want to be carrying a collectors item.
Thanks Anselme

These can be very hard to find, particularly the black ones. You also see them in yellow handles. The knife, model 322, was made by Camillus for Smoky Mountain Knife. It was the first of the ‘ersatz’ Bucks done for SMKW, made in 1989, and is probably the hardest of them to find. It definitely has collector value, took me years to get one.

Will, I back you up on the history, but I have had a chance to buy several. Every once in a while they seem to pop-up like dandelions on ebay, then disappear for a while. I would rate them only as medium hard to acquire. Several other variations of 300s I would say you better buy it if you find it.
Say along the lines of the white handled yachtsman 315 or a serrated blade Trailblazer 317. Just my limited experience anyway. Do you have a yellow congress.

Recently there has been a guy on the bay, Motormachanic, or something like that, who has had a lot of yellow ones but I had to really poke around to get a black one. I have both now but for a long time I had a black Camillus congress in the place where my black 322 now sits. You are right though. A white 315 could be a life’s work and anything serrated is just plain rare.

There is a black one on Ebay in a 6 knife set now. 260025460478 Other 5 knives are normal.

Sounds about right, won't be a date stamp. My cheat sheet list says they were made for SMKW in 95.
