I just aquired a camillus 4 blade congress with the two main blades stamped 22LR3 and below that , stamped 1994. I cannot find any info on the web about it. This is one sweet knife and would love to know more about it.

Hiya Mongrel. No doubt one of the Camillus guys will be here shortly.

As a dedicated Rimfire (.22 cal) shooter, this line has always been one of my favorites. And it was a whole line of knives made in the 90s. The first is the LR-1, a two blade pen, 1992. LR-2, a two blade trapper 1993. LR-3, a two blade congress, 1994, which is where I get a little confused about your post. Wasn't the LR4 a four blade congress? LR5 a lockback and LR-6 a whittler. My 'Rimfires' are all packed away right now. As I write, the Camillus factory guys will be here to set us straight.

So what popular pattern is missing from the above list? The stockman, of course, and Camillus corrected that oversight a couple of years ago, although technically, I don't think it was part of the series.

If you are going to collect all of the Camillus rimfires, don't overlook the newest member of the family, the knife made to commemorate the Hornady .17 Rimfire Magnum. Has the best bullet shield I have ever seen.

Hope this helps.

Phil

For the record:
22LR1 - 2 BLADE PEN
22LR2 - 2 BLADE JR. TRAPPER
22LR3 - 2 BLADE CONGRESS
22LR4 - 2 BLADE MUSKRAT
22LR5 - 1 BLADE LOCKBACK
22LR6 - 3 BLADE WHITTLER
22LR7 - 3 BLADE DELUXE STOCKMAN

and, Phil, you are right, the Hornady did come out very nice!

Thanks for the information. I already have the knife was just curious about it because I have never seen another like it. I consider myself very lucky to have found it.

Hmmm.. Makes it all the more interesting as it has the 'Rimfire' blades on it. Cool find. Blades replaced at the factory as part of warranty? A mistake? Anyway, thanks for setting me straight on the Rimfire lineup, Rick.

What, I believe, you have is a knive that we made using up some leftover parts. Not to diminsh the usefulness or quality of the knife - just a way of getting some use out of overrun parts. All parts are of first quality. Enjoy your new knife!

I'm sitting here with a Camillus Rimfire in my pocket. Its stamped 22LR4 over 1995 on the inside of the primary blade, which is etched with Rimfire Classic. The only thing that doesn't fit with your list is that its a muskrat and not a stockman. I bought it a few weeks ago and have just got round to giving it its "shakedown carry" in the rotation. Is this knife a rarity? Or did it get left out of your list?

BUSTED!!! You are right, I was looking at a list and assumed it was a stockman. It was indeed a muskrat. Sorry about that!
