Connor's tomahawk

Hello boys and girls!
It is pretty obvious I think that video games have huge influence on my work. After all it was the Diablo series that pushed me into the hot and sweaty world of hammering, decades ago (man, I am getting old faster and faster by the day :D ), why let Charsi have all the fun with her fancy Horadric Malus?!
So I guess I will stay on this bumpy road, because it still gives me much pleasure and it is also very interesting and pleasingly hard to dream virtual pieces into reality.
My latest work in the genre is the awesome Connor's tomahawk, from the game Assassins Creed.
I tried to keep it as close to the original as I could, but of course not everything can be done with metal, what can be done with pixels. Damn you, laws of physics :D
Hope you like it.

The world is a richer place with a healthy dose of fantasy. Well done.

Sure it is!

But dont' you think that the tomahawk is also functional?

I don't know what kind of strength the cutout of the blade costs? Looks to still have plenty of meat left on the bone. But it would surely make it quicker and lighter. Everything else, with a little embellishment, looks to be pretty traditional.

Fantasy meets form and function. Yea, I like it too.

Are "We" gonna sell it?

It remained 1 cm thick at the base of the hole, and about 6 mm thick on the edge side, so I think it should hold pretty well ;)
This one was a commission, so it is already done. Sorry.
Are you thinking about having a similar?

very cool hawk ive been a fan of your work for a while.
do you still play d2? i mostly play single player but recently got back online again

Came out quite good! And it is one of the video game blades that is actually somewhat practical. Ever since Final Fantasy VII came out, all the game developers have felt the need to make ridiculously oversized weapons.

Thanks a lot! :)
Well, I know it's a shame because it is a 20 year old game, but yes I do play it time to time :D It is always installed onto my older pc.
I only play single player, I don't really like all the trading stuff and those idiots with pvp characters. Beside I found the fury within mode more attractive ;)

Thanks! :)
Yeah, tell me about it?! Just look around in WOW and you will crumble under the weight of ridiculousness what those weapons generate. But hey, I guess that's what people need. :(
