I was looking for a EDC knife and planned to order a 532 with Ram Horn inlays from Bass Pro.... but they are currently back ordered with a 30+ day wait.

Was searching the archives and saw all the good press on the TNT and checked it out in person...very nice but about $80 more.

Weighed it over... and made the pro/con list.

532---
+ fairly hard to come by, so it is a unique carry
+ ram horn looked great
+ great design, feel in hand
- no clip
- 420 steel

Mayo TNT---
+ Titanium ('nuff said)
+ S30V (ditto)
+ unique design
- cost

I bit the bullet and shelled out the extra cash and went with the TNT... and don't regret it.

Like all the previous posts it has a great feel in hand and the fit/finish is superb. I plan to use the heck out of this one.

Also of note, I gave the Northshore a very close look and was very impressed with the fit and finish... even if it is made overseas.

ps. I have a Cabela's S30V 110 to be delivered tomorow as well. I promise I will slow up... soon.

congrats on your purchase of a Buck/Mayo TNT! I just got one and am very pleased with mine. this was the first S30V i had and was impressed with how sharp it gets. someone (wish i could remember so to give proper credit) posted that this steel, because of its molecalar make-up, retaines "mico-serrations". ie... it gets sharp! Ti scales, great feel and light. this knife looks like it should weight 2 lbs. not just a few ozs.

*blade grind is thin and it slices very good. watch your fingers!

Don't have a Bass Pro catalog. Just curious what they want for the 532 w/ram horn. Sounds like a nice one.
