Considering a Bandicoot or a Howling Rat

I'd like some inputs from people who own either or preferably both. I'm interested in the strong points and weak points of each. The knife will most likely be used as a general all-around utility blade. Slicing, skinning, clearing small vegetations from firing lanes etc, but may also see duty for "tactical use" such as light prying or last ditch SD. Thanks in advance for any inputs.

The howler with a little more blade width really make it the best if your going to be doing some choping and prying :D

The Howler is easier to slice food with, and clean game with. The Coot penetrates better. For the stuff you mentioned, I would go with the Howler.

I have and carry a Bandicoot. I use it for general utility and whatnot. Oddly enough although I carry a coot I would suggest you get yourself a Howling Rat. I don't have any problems with any task I need it for. You mentioned skinning so I would go with the Howler.

The only SR101 knife that I don't own is a Howling Rat. I have the rest, and they are great knives. I love my Bandicoot, but to satisfy my particular needs, I did thin the edge out quite a bit on my Edgepro. This thing is just great! Very strong, and keeps a great edge! Good luck and let us know what you choose!

I have an HR that works great on deer! :D

I went through this a while back, and decided on the HR. Like mentioned above it has more blade, and for the tasks that you mentioned, I believe it would be the best choice.

Thanks for all of your inputs. After a little consideration I've decided to go with the HR. Now to gather the necessary funds! :)
