I've just rekindled my interest in collecting knives and already I can see the direction of this hobby taking off all over the place. I want to focus on a niche before it's too late and Busse has definately got my interest. They seemed so elusive years ago.... not sure why I think they are attainable now as I don't really make any more money than I used to....

So my question is this : should I just jump right in and try an pick up a current production model, look for something used, or maybe start off with a Swamp Rat or Scrapyard?

Am I gonna spend all of what little spare cash I have available if I go down this road?

Someone, quick, talk me out of it or point me to a good entry level knife in the for sale forums!!!

Cheers,

S.

My advice would be to watch the bussecompanystore for the next couple of day, as they have Busses at retail prices. http://bussecompanystore.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PLST&Store_Code=BCS

Use next to goto the last page, if you don't see anything you like there come back here are we'll talk again about what's on the exchange, theres been a lot of great stuff there as well for reasonable prices. You picked a good time to start.

Oh yeah, there is a Killer Ganzaa (huge sale by Busse on this forum) on the way as well ... do a search for what a ganzaa is I think Cobalt has a thread on it.

Welcome to the madness.

INFI is highly addictive so tread with caution ;) Once you start you won't be able to turn back and all of your hard earned money will be spent on INFI. Both the BATACs (Badger Attack) and GWs (Game Warden) can be had at factory prices. You can find them at www.bussecompanystore.com The ADs (Active Duty) and MS (Mean Street) can be found here on the exchange also at fairly reasonable prices. It really depends on what your personal preferences are.... If you like'em Big and Large then the FBM (Fusion Battle Mistress) are the way to go. They can still be had at very reasonable prices.

Check out www.bussecollector.com or www.badmojo.tv to see various models. A lot of the models are no longer in production but can still be found if you are lucky or if you are willing to pay a premium. The current or recent production stuff can still be had at very good prices. I can't name them all but here are a few just off the top of my head.

CGFBM, FFBM, MS, AD, GW, BATAC, Sus Scrofa (Current Production), Scotch Dispenser (Currently Taking Orders)

Thanks all for the info and comments. I've got some research to do... it's seems like Busse's have an interesting resale market all their own.

If your looking for an EDC or small knife you can get at a great price there is a muddy/tan meaner or AD for around $230 on the exchange. I also saw a GW below cost:eek: Great time to get in!

No, there not mine, I just noticed them.

I think one of those would make you a great first Busse

Welcome to Busse, hope you can jump on in. If not good luck with whatever direction you choose:thumbup:

If you have any questions about Busse shoot me a PM, I'll try to help

I recently began collecting Busse blades as well and it has been a great experience. Although, it has been traumatic to my cash flow. :o

Best knives I have ever owned.

Welcome aboard SGI!
it is hard to choose poorly when it comes to Busse knives...

Am I gonna spend all of what little spare cash I have available if I go down this road?

All your spare cash, then all you money set aside for insurance, food, mortgage etc etc, Just jump right in with a Busse. Check the Co. Store for sure and do your research before buying in the secondary so you can judge what a fair price is. When in doubt ask a Hog, we always like to help guide the new guys. Welcome aboard and enjoy the insanity.

Thanks again for the advice and welcome. I'm keeping my eyes on the exchange. Unfortunately most that I would jump on are CONUS only.

Cheers,

S.

Welcome SGI, I hope this turns out to be a great experience for you as it has for so many of us. Keep your eye peeled, there are plenty of folks out there willing to ship to Canada. If something piques your interest, just ask the seller, ya never know!

If that doesn't work, strike up a friendship with someone down here and ask them to proxy for you. They could ship it to Canada for you.
