Considering another Insingo, Micarta or plain?

This would rarely see hard use, but intended to be an edc for an office environment. Wondering how the micarta may catch the fabric of khakis or thinner dress slacks, as well as the added thickness. I've had wooden inlays and plain slabs to this point. Interested in the added grip I think the micarta might add. Thanks for any insight based on your experience!

I'd vote for the micarta, I owned the large one but found it to be too large for an EDC for me and am searching out for a well loved used small micarta insingo. I am not sure if that would fit my hand as I'm hoping but if I get any, it would be with the micarta, adds a lot to the overall grip and also looks great too.

My small Insingo (Micarta) goes to work with me every day. Make that everywhere. No issues (yet) in an IT office environment. Clips on chinos or slacks w/o issue. The dull grey of the clip is low key too. Might be a good idea to check what your company's policy with do's and don't in the workplace. I do not flash mine around whatsoever at work but that's just common sense. Should you visit any type of secure facilities, best to leave it in your car or at home, otherwise you could be sol.

Since you are "considering another insingo" that means you already have a plain one or at least had a plain one at some point. I'd say try the micarta and if you don't like it you could always sell it or trade it for a plain.

Micarta doesn't add that much friction but the extra width and contouring give it much better ergos. My preference is for micarta on a small and plain for large. Micarta feels more secure in the hand with a small but makes a large a bit too large.

Gronk: Good insight - thanks!

I'm depending on you guys since I don't have a dealer in town with one in stock to grab one real time.

I vote plain vs micarta. I love the look of the micarta inlays but prefer the feel of the plain. Both of my insingos are LG.

Traded my plain Insingo and ordered a new micarta! As you can tell by the thread, I was looking for encouragement and information.

You'll like the feel of the micarta inserts I think. Mine have tended to wear kinda smooth and don't feel rough at all. But I like the extra bit of grip the seem to impart to the knife. I do wish CRK would offer more "fluted" type slabs as on both sides of the Starbenza. Really like the feel of mine over a plain, if you do not want inserts.
